Three Lions Underwriting Ltd was formed in 2002 as a joint venture Underwriting Agency between Munich Reinsurance Company and Bell & Clements Ltd, and is authorised to issue insurance on behalf of Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK) PLC. Three Lions Underwriting Limited is also authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK) PLC was originally formed in Canada. In 1987, a UK subsidiary was established and is based in London. Great Lakes UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of Munich Reinsurance Company. They provide first class security and are authorised to transact all classes of Insurance and Reinsurance business except life.
Three Lions currently underwrites Commercial, Personal Lines and Personal Accident and Illness, primarily through delegated authority facilities, and have a dedicated team of experienced underwriters based in Birmingham and London who are on hand to assist with enquiries and maintain quality levels.
